■ one for the guys

The sartorial offerings for men have traditionally been fairly slim during Boston Fashion Week. Entrepreneur Gina Rodriguez and fashion designer Nubia Williams changed that this season with the launch of Taillur, a new made-to-measure brand for men. This Boston-based team is determined to help the modern gentleman dress well with suiting tailored to fit their lifestyle.

Taillur is a new kind of haberdashery for men. Using state of the art technology it provides men with a simple way to order customized shirts and suiting online. Choose the fabric, customize the design, verify your measurements, done.

We’re particularly fond of the bright indigo suit above. #blue4bill

Three Boston-based stylists came together around the question, "What would Coco wear?" Taylor Greeley, Nathalie Fanfan-Glyman and Terri Mahn interpreted Boston fashion's "It Girl" as the Parisian icon might have defined her today. French designer furniture company Roche Bobois provided an ideal environment for Platform Downtown's elegant live installation.

SoWa Open Market is already the place to be on a Sunday afternoon. The debut of SoWa Style: South End Fashion Discovery made it even more attractive by bringing attention to the many fashion businesses that have set up shop in the SoWa district. The outdoor fashion show took place under beautiful blue skies. It featured a mix of vintage, ready-to-wear, accessories, and designer originals placing South End style where it belongs, in the sunlight. Learn more about Sowa Style.

Boston Fashion Week 2016 goes #BLUE4BILL
in memory of the legendary fashion photographer
Bill Cunningham (1929-2016).

We're challenging local fashion industry professionals and the community at large to find a way to go #BLUE4BILL during Boston Fashion Week. You can get as creative as you like but something as simple as wearing blue to an event and posting a picture on social media with the hashtag #BLUE4BILL would be a lovely gesture honoring this very special man who contributed so much to the fashion industry.

■ about boston fashion week

Boston Fashion Week was founded as a civic initiative in 1995. The force behind the week has been dedicated to creating opportunities that increase the viability and visibility of the local industry. The series of fashion related events throughout Greater Boston and beyond serves as a platform for both established industry professionals and aspiring newcomers to showcase their work as well as network with peers and the public.

This annual celebration of Boston style featuring a great wealth of local talent, is unique in that it is designed to engage the community directly, at the grassroots level - cultivating fashion as an integral part of the Boston lifestyle. This approach has also begun to attract the interest of national and international designers who are looking to connect authentically with a Boston audience.

Accessibility and diversity in programming allow the public to engage the week on many levels; experiencing a show, taking in an exhibit, participating in an educational program, or joining in the festivities at a party.

The week also contributes to a sense of civic pride about what the region has to offer and how it continues to evolve. The public is invited to become active participants in the local fashion community by supporting local style makers during Boston Fashion Week and throughout the rest of the year.
